I bet you’re thinking ‘Facebook messenger…? Really? Has she gone crazy?’
Nope not crazy… I’m actually deadly serious!
Facebook Messenger is the new way in which you can create the most direct marketing for your business or blog and target those who WANT to hear more about your brand using a ChatBot.
No more worrying about algorithm or spending money on Facebook Ad’s or wondering why one post one day did amazingly well and then flopped a month later.
With Facebook messenger you have control over the content YOU want to share and every piece is seen by who WANTS to see it.
What is a Chatbot?
A chatbot is an a piece of software that can simulate a conversation (or a chat) with a user in natural language through messaging applications, websites or mobile apps.
It’s a way to build relationships and chat to potential clients, customers or readers without you having to be there to type every single letter!
How do I start getting people on my Messenger mailing list?
There are various ways in which you could start getting people signed up to your Messenger list the first being the easiest one of all in that you just pop a customise button on your website either as a pop up, a custom block within blog post text. You can even get them to just tick a box upon checkout of an order, create a landing page to direct people to OR add a customer chat to your website.
Here’s mine… try it out if you want…
How can I use Facebook Messenger to promote my blog or business?
Whether that’s a one time broadcasts with new YouTube videos, blog posts or new products OR a whole sequence using keywords or prompts to encourage someone to order, book an appointment or seek advice from a page on your website perhaps? You can create automatic distribution of all new content without you having to life a finger!
You can even specify to share certain products or services to only those based in the UK for example or those that are in certain time zones!
Create a database
You can export all your clients details to Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Hubspot or ConvertKit so don’t feel like you are restricted to contacting them through Facebook Messenger. The opportunities are endless (as long as you follow the requirements of GDPR!)
Create automatic responses to comments
This is the one of the tools the bot is awesome for and that I use regularly myself. Using my own blog post below as an example.. from here I can get someone replying to what should already be quite an engaging post and on to my mailing list before you can say ‘night night’.
I’ve told the automated Chat Bot to look out for those who comment ‘ME’ and engage in conversation with them via messenger the the following customised message.
When they reply with ‘YES’ the Chat Bot will automatically subscribe them to my list and let them know another blog post will out shortly 🙂
Another way you could utilise this feature is to send them a link to product that would help them sleep perhaps (if you are a business that offer natural sleeping remedies for example!).
How much does it cost to set up a Messenger Chatbot?
The good thing about it it’s FREE to set up and free to an extent to manage too.
If you want to set it up yourself of course! If you’d like any help then you can check out my prices to do so below.
If you are wanting to be a little bit more adventurous with it and utilise it to the best of it’s ability it’s going to set you back, a mediocre $145/month for up to 25k subscribers for you to do-it-yourself.
I say mediocre because if you compare that to how much you are spending on Facebook ad’s and only sometimes seeing a return it’s probably a drop in the ocean!
Paid accounts remove the branding of the chat bot too and let’s you really manage your subscribers with unlimited sequences, customizable growth widgets, unlimited tags to organise your lists plus so much more!
Free accounts are more than ideal for bloggers who only maybe want to send out automatic new blog post notifications as you can have unlimited subscribers on the free plan (however single broadcasts are going to be chargeable very soon.. so you will need to nurture your audience to engage… then you can send promotional messages to them for free).
Online marketing is fierce.. so get ahead of your competitors now and let me help you create your first chat bot because those who become early adopters of this fast-growing channel are going to have serious advantage over their competitors!
You can find a link to the standard ChatBot set up service I offer below.
